I/ Identity
DEUZ was launched in June 2010 by 2 sisters and a childhood friend.
Charlotte Findeling, graduate from Edhec Grande Ecole Lille, Class of 2004
Marie Findeling, graduate from the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Strasbourg
Elsa Compagnon, graduate from the Ecole Boulle in Paris
II/ Business venture:
DEUZ sells child-friendly, imaginative items for kids aged 0 to 10.
DEUZ puts the emphasis on dynamic colour and design to create unexpected graphics and surprising combinations.
It selects the best materials for kids and their world (cotton and certified organic inks) to produce decorative items, games and prints. DEUZ designs for the young and curious, and the older, more discerning shopper.
You can find our store online on www.deuz.biz, and follow our adventures on Facebook: "DEUZ Créations".
Size of team:
. 3 partners, including one Edhec
. Capital raised: 35,000 euros
. Originality:
Our brand identity is highly graphic and eye-catching, and is positioned to contrast significantly with other current market offers.
Our creations are designed to meet the real needs of children and their parents (to develop the senses, offering comfort and ease of use...).
We produce ingenious new concepts that develop children’s imagination.
We demand the highest aesthetic and technical quality, sourcing from processes and materials through partnerships with socially committed suppliers.
. Growth prospects:
Our retailing network, which has risen from 10 to 70 children’s multi-brands in just one year, is expected to grow rapidly thanks to an increase in export-related collaboration, closer ties with day nurseries and local authorities, and specific partnerships with well-known retailers.
The marketing/PR side of things should be stepped up in the coming year with the forthcoming opening of a work placement position.
III/ What would you like from the Edhec network?
We would like to meet entrepreneurs and professionals from the children’s sector and, more widely, all Edhec parents!
We would like to talk about what we have done to date, and to share our experience since we first created DEUZ.
Meetings such as these will also give us a chance to get advice, views and expectations from other Edhec alumni in a fast growing market.
