Why is it important for you to support our scholarship programme?
During my studies at EDHEC, I was fortunate to receive merit-based as well as need-based scholarships. They provided me with much more than financial support: they were a discreet yet powerful encouragement—a sign that someone believed in me.
Today, giving back feels like the most natural way to return to the community what it has given me. It’s a gesture of gratitude, but also a commitment: to help others move forward with confidence in their turn. In a way, it’s also an invitation to others to do the same. The symbolism behind this gesture is powerful.
Ultimately, giving is about sustaining the chain of solidarity that allowed me to be where I am today, and telling someone: “I believe in you, just as others believed in me.”
What motivated or triggered your first donation?
It happened in a flash: I came across the Alumni newsletter and, from there to completing the transaction, it took barely four minutes. Yet, the motivation had been there for much longer.
On a personal note, I did my first internship at the EDHEC Foundation, working precisely on donation initiatives to support students.
I saw firsthand the stories of scholarship recipients, the dedication of the staff behind the Foundation, and the commitment of EDHEC donors. I promised myself that, one day, I would do the same.
What would you say to other alumni to encourage them to join the donor community?
We live in a global context where the academic world faces challenges from all sides. It is all the more important to support access to quality education for everyone, to help build a fairer and more progressive world.
However, contributing should only happen when you feel ready. That’s how you complete the circle, and the gesture carries the meaning it is meant to embody.
