- Can you explain briefly how your business came about (team, origins, project originality)?
Muvzi was born out of personal frustration! I played the piano for many years, and then because of my studies I temporarily put my passion to one side. Then when I wanted to get back into music, I noticed that it was difficult to meet other musicians. It doesn’t take long to go through all the online ads and friends of friends!
So I came up with the idea for a mobile app to bring musicians together! I teamed up with my associates, Timothée and Johan, and together we launched Muvzi a few months ago!
Muvzi borrows the famous “swiping” concept used by Tinder and adapts it for millions of musicians frustrated from using paper ads and online forums. Meeting other musicians has never been so quick and easy!
- What is your initial assessment of this entrepreneurial adventure?
I made the most of my gap year to take the plunge! I’ve been working on this project for one year. So far, some wonderful encounters, mistakes (it would be too easy otherwise), hours of work and lots of coffee, I can’t get enough!
- Have you ever benefited from the network of EDHEC graduates?
I have received support from the EDHEC Young Entrepreneurs incubator since the beginning! It’s always nice to know that my school takes an interest! Apart from that I haven’t yet had the opportunity to meet with graduates, but I won’t be long getting around to it!
- What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?
“Go for it, you never know it might work out!" Just kidding.
Get your MVP (minimum viable product) out there as quickly as possible and don’t forget: if you are proud of your product, you waited too long to release it!
- What’s next for your business?
We are looking for investors to boost our development! We are also getting ready to recruit our first staff members!
- What are your expectations from the community of EDHEC graduates (fundraising, looking for staff, partners, advice, etc.)?
I hope to meet graduates in the network who can put me in contact with investors and/or partners! And who knows, perhaps find a mentor.
