Marine Feuerstein (2001) sets out on the Transat 6.50 La Rochelle - Salvador de Bahia
After 4 years of preparation, sailing over 10,000 nautical miles and visiting 10 countries, Marine Feuerstein (2001) set off for the Transat 6.50 La Rochelle - Salvador de Bahia on 13 September 2009!
The trip involves a solo crossing of 4,200 miles on a 6.50 m boat, single-handed and without any means of communication. It’s the longest and loneliest of Transats, and also the most mythical.
"As soon as I arrive in Salvador de Bahia, I’m leaving with some other people for a 3000 mile pleasure trip along the Brazilian coastline until we reach the West Indies," she confided.
