Emmanuel Rondeau, newly appointed EDHEC Advisory Board Member, discusses the importance of risk culture in banking
On 15th December, Emmanuel Rondeau, Head of Credit Quality Assurance at RBS, provided EDHEC students and alumni a special insight into the “hot topic” of issues involved in managing the credit risk. “We are in a world where we are facing a multi-dimensional approach to risk” – said Emmanuel Rondeau, referring to the theme “Risk is everywhere, in every aspect of the business” that had been given to the series of keynote speeches organized on EDHEC’s London campus.
Within this framework, developing a strong risk culture, according to Emmanuel Rondeau, has become crucial, especially amongst the front-line bank employers. The speech gave students and alumni a solid review of the regulatory issues faced by the Financial Services Industry since the introduction of the Basel III framework and its impact on the current banking environment. During the very interactive Q&A session, students and alumni asked challenging questions about the future of the banking industry and the role of risk management in preventing the next crisis.
In February 2012, Emmanuel Rondeau will join the EDHEC Financial Economics International Advisory Board. Please click here to read his bio.
