The first international and interconnected EDHEC Rendez-Vous brought together 1300 Edhec people from across the globe
In all, 14 countries turned up for the Rendez-Vous on 14 June, despite the time differences and some connection problems. New-York, Noumea, Singapore, Rio, Geneva, Toronto... 24 cities took part in the event worldwide, with live participation during the plenary session in Paris plus a quantity of photos and videos sent in via the social networks. All those present were able to follow the scale of the event and prepare for it in advance using the special Facebook application.
This 22nd Edhec Rendez-Vous enabled alumni from around the world to meet up and enjoy business and career opportunities thanks to the exceptional installations. A smartphone application, streaming connection to all the sites, and coordination via the social networks made the interactions and discussions easier.
One of the evening’s highlights was the announcement of the winner of Edhec of the Year: Philippe Léopod-Metzger (GE 1977). Over the last 12 years, this formidable leader has made Piaget one of the world’s leading watch-making groups.
Hervé Borgoltz (GE 1977) took home the prize of Entrepreneur of the Year for the success of his firm, BDT, which is now international leader in electric vehicle charger stations and systems.
Finally, Bruno Delcampe (Executive MBA 2012) won the Socially Responsible Business prize for SOS Entrepreneur, an association that assists SME entrepreneurs in difficulty.
All the Edhec people present or linked up for the evening were able to discover the atypical profiles of the other entrepreneurs nominated for the awards during the round table conference before Olivier Oger took the stage to give us some School news and to talk about the strength of our community.
The EDHEC Rendez-Vous in Paris also gave those present an opportunity to discover the majestic site of the Centorial building and EDHEC’s new installations during the guided visits around the campus.
The evening ended with a drink or dinner in a restaurant for some, the beach or a terrace for others! In Paris, almost 1000 Edhec people enjoyed the champagne and buffet before leaving with gifts from the cosmetics brand, Sothys.
Judging from the enthusiasm and involvement of everyone who came to Paris as elsewhere, this EDHEC Rendez-Vous was a big success.
The EDHEC Alumni team and the 330 ambassadors from around the world are counting on your presence for the next Rendez-Vous on 6 June 2013!
