- Can you tell us briefly how your project came about (team, origins and project originality)?
I decided to take on the challenge of PETIT PICOTIN exactly one year ago! I came up with the idea when my eldest daughter was born. I was touched by the personalised baby gifts we received, but when I wanted to do the same for our friends’ children I was very disappointed with what I found: the products available were either very traditional or very poor quality. I wanted to bring a breath of fresh air to the market!
- What is your initial assessment of this entrepreneurial adventure?
It’s a bit early to be drawing conclusions about the business, but the brand has been very well received and things are moving faster than I had imagined! In human terms, my assessment is already very positive! Meeting new people, sharing my experiences, talking to others… I have learned so much in one year!
- Have you ever benefited from the EDHEC Alumni network?
Yes [smiles], it was through EDHEC that I found my main supporter: my husband! Seriously though, the EDHEC network has mainly helped me by putting me in contact with entrepreneurs and talking to them, especially about the challenges associated with e-commerce.
- What advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?
To go for it all the way! A lot of women are unbelievably talented but don’t fully take the plunge: they manage their project alongside a steady job without fully committing. I think that’s a shame.
- What’s next for your company?
I have just launched the website, so for the moment I’ll remain focused on that major challenge! I am also working on the new collection and am continuing to refine my retailing strategy.
- What are your expectations from the community of EDHEC graduates (fundraising, looking for staff, partners, advice, etc.)?
For the time being, I would like to use the EDHEC network to find a sponsor with experience in e-trade who could offer me advice.
