2024 Ambassadors Day: A team effort as we prepare the future of EDHEC and its alumni network
On Saturday 27 January, for the 14th edition of Ambassadors Day, around 100 EDHEC graduates – travelling from more than 18 different countries, including Singapore, South Africa, United States and Vietnam – came together on EDHEC’s Paris campus in the company of the EDHEC Alumni Board of Trustees and staff members from both the School and association to discuss the EDHEC 2028 strategic plan and changes to implement for the future of the EDHEC Alumni network.
These graduates are among the nearly 400 volunteer ambassadors perpetuating the dynamism of your community throughout the year all around the world. Through their clubs, they help us offer more than 450 events each year, accompanying graduates with their career development, networking or integration into a new life or company. A team effort as we prepare the future of EDHEC and its network!
The morning got off to a start with a presentation of the latest progress on the strategic plan by Emmanuel Métais and Colin Godbarge, respectively Dean and Chief Strategy Officer of EDHEC. They then met with representatives from the EDHEC Foundation and high-impact investment fund GENERATIONS by EDHEC.
After a big speed networking session and an informal lunch, delegates attended a training course on the new functions and best practices when it comes to effectively running their clubs. Whether it’s overseeing a team of volunteers or organising high-impact events, ensuring a strong community presence on social media or coping with data-related challenges, the role of ambassador involves drawing on a wide range of both soft and hard skills. So it’s a good thing that the EDHEC Alumni team and their ambassador colleagues are always on hand to offer support.
To round off the event, participants were invited to collectively reflect on their vision of the EDHEC Alumni network between now and 2035. A network which they imagine built on a foundation of five pillars: commitment & solidarity, the environment, diversity & inclusion, career support and, lastly, addressing the challenges linked to artificial intelligence.
Some fine objectives were sketched out: a “carbon-positive” community and (why not?) the election of a female EDHEC graduate as President of the Republic! To make all this possible, tangible and ambitious initiatives have begun to emerge which we will tell you more about soon when the next EDHEC strategic plan is released. Watch this space :)
