Welcome Martin Barbier, Edhec Master 1988, Director of Edhec Alumni
Martin graduated in 1988 with a Master degree from EDHEC Business School, where he also served as President of the 20th Course Croisière EDHEC. First with Kraft, and later at Editions Lefebvre Sarrut (Francis Lefebvre, Dalloz) and Medissimo (e-health pioneer), he acquired a wealth of experience with branded products and in senior managerial positions in B2B and B2C services.
Operating in French, English and Spanish, for more than 10 years he has driven the transformation and development of strategic business and clients (up to €500 million) in France and internationally in highly competitive environments.
Specifically, between 2005 and 2008, while based in Kraft’s headquarters in Chicago, he managed the account of retailer Walmart, the company’s largest international account, and established its steady increase in sales at more than 3 times the pace of Kraft International.
From 2008 to 2011, as Commercial Director (marketing/sales) of CSP Formation and Francis Lefebvre Formation, he led the transformation of these two entities, making them the sector’s most profitable training centres in France.
He served as a member of the executive committee at Editions Lefebvre Sarrut from 2012 to 2015 and established new drivers of digital growth for the group. In this role, he led a rapidly expanding internal start-up that provides legal information over the phone, and led from A to Z an ERPsoftware programme for lawyers launched in 3 different countries in partnership with an external start-up.
In 2016, as COO for Medissimo, he piloted the launch of a connected pillbox, a major innovation in IoT for France and international.
Martin is passionate about the contemporary challenges related to the human dimension, international, innovation, the new generations and the future of work. On 1 September 2017, he joined the EDHEC Alumni association as Director. His mission is to develop its services and mobilise the network of alumni in order to contribute to the strength of the EDHEC brand and the fulfilment of the strategic objectives of the EDHEC Group.
