Dear Graduate,
You are a major contributor to the EDHEC community through your continual and exemplary support for the School and its values. Consequently, I wish to inform you personally about certain recent decisions of our Board of Governors and its Steering Committee.
After 28 years dedicated to developing EDHEC, I am nearing the end of my professional career. I accordingly requested the Board to set in motion a process to find my successor. Following a broad consultation of EDHEC Business School’s stakeholders (International Advisory Board, Ethics Board, Executive Committee, etc.), a committee was set up several months ago by the Board to select a new dean to take over from me in 2017. This committee’s remit was firstly to determine the profile for my replacement and then to examine both internal and external candidates, before making it a recommendation for final approval.
In this context, Richard Simonin (EDHEC Alumnus 1976), Chairman of the Board of Governors since February 2012, will be submitting his resignation to the Board with effect from the end of this year, one year prior to the end of his term of office. This will enable his successor to conduct the final stage of the selection process for my replacement; and it will also be helpful in preparing an enduring and productive working relationship with the new dean. In full agreement with the Steering Committee, Richard Simonin will be proposing Bruno de Pampelonne (EDHEC Alumnus 1981), joint Vice-Chairman of the Board since February 2012, as EDHEC’s next Chairman at the Board’s plenary session on 22 November. Formerly President of EDHEC Alumni (2009-2014), Bruno de Pampelonne is also a member of the EDHEC-Risk Institute Advisory Board and of the EDHEC Ethics Board.
