Philippe Léopold-Metzger, CEO of Piaget, awarded “EDHEC of the Year 2012”
Philippe Léopold-Metzger (EDHEC 1977), the CEO of PIAGET, was awarded the “EDHEC of the Year” on June 15, 2012, at the newest EDHEC campus in the heart of Paris. Presented annually during the alumni event “EDHEC Rendez-Vous”, this award praises the EDHEC graduate who has contributed tremendously to the development of company through his dedicated work. Being recognized by his peers in the industry, the “EDHEC of the Year” embodies success and contributes to strengthening EDHEC excellence.
And this year, the EDHEC Alumni Association gave this prestigious prize to Philippe Léopold-Metzger. In the past 12 years, his passion has elevated PIAGET among the largest watch-making groups in the world. Based in Geneva, Philippe Léopold-Metzger was among the first business leaders who believed that Asian market, especially the China market, are very important and it’s crucial to well develop a network of retail stores there. Since he became the CEO of PIAGET, this combative leader has sought to foster the creativity of its products and to find a balance between jewelry and watches. Result: the turnover of Piaget has increased significantly in the past twelve years. This good status was notably confirmed by the outstanding results of PIAGET in 2011, the subsidiary of Richemont Group.
Philippe Léopold-Metzger supports the development of the Group and is happy to open the door of his group to welcome students and graduates.
In its XXII edition, the “EDHEC Rendez- Vous” was innovating with a specialized mobile app which allowed all its 26,000 alumni across the globe to be present for the ceremony and interact with other attendees on the Paris campus.
