Major Financial Institutions Tap into EDHEC Talent at the Finance Recruitment Fair
On 26th September, over 700 EDHEC students from Financial Economics Track in Nice have met with hiring managers from corporate, banking and audit firms. 24 participating companies have had an opportunity to promote their summer internships, graduate or associate programmes and full time jobs to EDHEC Masters and MBA candidates.
What employers said:
“EDHEC is our target school and it is great to have a specific event dedicated to finance, as this enables us to meet students who are extremely well prepared for this type of career (…) Most of them have done a lot of internships and already have an impressive, interesting experience” – emphasized Nicolas Boidin and Philippe Berteaux, Audit Managers at Ernst & Young.
Elise Gilbert, Campus Manager at Societe Generale, stated: “Finance Fair is a key recruiter event for us. EDHEC profiles are successful in the variety of our programs like the Graduate or General Inspection Programmes. On the top of that, EDHEC is the most represented school in our graduate intake worldwide (…) The students are curious and open minded, what enables us to have a rewarding exchange on both sides”
BNP Paribas, Mars and PwC gave further insights into their activities during corporate presentations, whilst ICAP run a networking session to connect with students and explain what interdealer broking is all about. “This is quite an innovative way of getting to know the company – says Kay, MSc in Finance student. I appreciated the possibility of networking with all the staff that were present: recruiters, operations managers and executives. Broking is not an obvious career choice for Financial Economics track students, but I think that ICAP have managed to attract many of us through their networking session”.
The event was preceded by Finance Career Days, where students were given in-depth tips about careers in finance and participated in applications clinics.
First day kicked off with the presentation on careers in financial services, delivered by Rosemary Goater, International Career Advisor and Head of Corporate Relations at EDHEC, and Patrick Fearon, executive coach with 16 years experience at JP Morgan. On the second day, nearly 300 EDHEC students attended Alumni Spotlights where graduates from firms such as BNP, Citibank, Mazars, RBS and UBS shared their experience. Panel discussions covered everything from careers in markets, corporate finance to alternative finance careers.
