The French economic magazine Challenges has placed EDHEC at the top of the podium in the latest rankings of French business schools, declaring it the Most Dynamic Business School. Olivier Oger, Dean of EDHEC Business School, portrayed on the cover of the special issue explains the results of this position in a two-page interview.
"EDHEC is one of the few completely independent business schools in France and this freedom gives us a leading edge." explains Olivier Oger, Dean of EDHEC Busines school." Independence stimulates! We are free to grow and act in the way we see fit. This dynamism is linked to EDHEC's increase in budget, which has doubled over the last five years. It has come in part from company sponsorship but we have also had to activate ourselves to get the final result. Our unique research strategy to make EDHEC a reference in Europe for the impact we make on the Economy and society as a whole, and our belief that Management research is only worthwhile if it is actually useful for companies, has been a vector of our notoriety. Companies see EDHEC as an investment because they believe in us."
Further proof that the top rank is deserved includes the vast development plans for Nice and Lille campuses and which will be ready for the September 2010 entry. Lille's campus, home to the Business Management track of the Grande Ecole will move to a vast campus within 9 hectares of parkland while the Executive Education unit will be centred in a 19th century manor within the grounds. The Nice campus, where the EDHEC MBA and the Financial Economics track of the Grande Ecole are held, will be able to benefit from an extension of 7000 m2 on the glamorous Promenade des Anglais. The budget has been raised from company sponsorship both in France and internationality through links formed in particular through EDHEC Risk Institute and financial institutions in the City of London. Private investors and the local municipalities have also provided funding.
On the subject of growth, EDHEC has moved into Singapore and this will add to brand recognition in Asia. EDHEC-Risk Institute will offer a PhD in finance and executive training to Finance professionals from March 2010.
Other noteworthy ranks for EDHEC in the Challenges Business School Rankings include the 2nd highest starting salary upon graduation and 3rd for the progression in number of graduates in the 2010 Who's Who.For information on how to integrate EDHEC Business School , please contact international.admissions@edhec.edu
