EDHEC Business School appointments new Academic Programme Director : René Garcia

René Garcia takes his new role as Director of EDHEC Grande Ecole and various Masters of Science of the EDHEC Business School.
His experience and reputation are global in research in pedagogy, as evidenced by the growing success of the PhD in Finance which will continue to provide scientific leadership and progress.
"René Garcia joins EDHEC with considerable assets to meet international ambitions of the school. He will accompany the implementation of a new roadmap for academic excellence and innovation, " said Olivier Oger, Dean of EDHEC Business School.
Holder of a PhD from Princeton University, René Garcia joined EDHEC in 2007. Previously, he taught at the University of Montreal in Canadawhere he headed a chair in finance and conducted extensive research for institutions such as the Central Bank of Canada. He also provided the scientific direction of a research center on organizations, _ co-founded the Journal of Financial Econometrics, published by Oxford University Press of which he was editor until June 2013.
He was also Scientific Director of the Economics and Financial sector as part of EDHEC Risk.
René Garcia has Franco-Canadian dual nationality.
