Feedback on the financial audit recruitment drive at EDHEC.
You took part in 2 placement recruitment sessions on our Lille and Nice campuses. Is EDHEC indispensable in your talent recruitment strategy or just another option? The quality of EDHEC's academic mission and its research clearly makes the school an indispensable part of our talent pool recruitment strategy. The placements we offer EDHEC students therefore lead to real job opportunities at the end of the road. The sandwich year is no longer simply a choice but more an opportunity to gain expertise. While a few years ago, it was possible to try out two different 6-month assignments, in today's recruitment market students have to organise their gap year in coherence with their career plan, above all to gain the expertise and professional experience they need to land the best full-time jobs once they've graduated. What do you think? It's true that in the past, some students thought of the gap year as a discovery year but still managed to reach the end of their programme without really knowing what they wanted to do afterwards. It's sure that today it's better for them to use this gap year to help build their career plan. The new EDHEC programme is designed to fit in with this trend as the students now have to make an initial choice about the kind of career they're hoping to work in from the end of the first year.
Junior auditor recruitment: what are the upcoming trends? Given the current economic climate, we could have frozen our recruitments until things began to get better. Instead we did the opposite, continuing to recruit junior auditors, as this remains a priority for our firm. The current crisis will nonetheless force us to reduce the number of new recruits. A word of advice from an Edhec to an Edhec ... Apart from your academic programme, make the most of your EDHEC years to get some unforgettable experiences by working in associations, for example, or going abroad ...
