Call for donations to the Red Cross to provide medical supplies to our healthcare workers
Dear EDHEC Alumni,
The fight against the Covid-19 virus goes on. While our collective efforts are beginning to show positive signs, our health services continue to lead a dangerous and fraught battle to save lives. Across the country, essential equipment for healthcare workers, volunteers and emergency staff is in short supply. Their needs are colossal. Our mobilisation must not wane.
In partnership with other alumni associations from business and engineering Grandes écoles (you will find the list here, with links to the logos of each school), EDHEC Alumni has joined the fundraising efforts being led by the French Red Cross to supply masks, gloves, caps and gowns to our healthcare workers.
We are appealing to your solidarity for donations from all EDHEC alumni. For each donation you make to the French Red Cross, EDHEC Alumni will donate the same amount, with an overall budget of €10,000 allocated to this fundraising effort.
The alumni networks in the Grandes écoles have a role to play in the fight against Covid-19.
Behind this initiative, alumni from the Mines and Ponts engineering schools in Europe and China worked on a voluntary basis to set up a practical solution in just a few days in cooperation with the French Red Cross. Having identified the needs on the ground, an industrial partnership was established with Heppner, which offered to work for zero margins, to secure the logistics and transport to France.
EDHEC Alumni has joined this initiative and is calling on you all to make a donation to the Red Cross Foundation to maximize the potential of this solidarity campaign.
More than €215,000 already raised, including €28,000 from the EDHEC community
The initiative, launched in late March, has already been met with a wave of solidarity from the alumni of French Grandes écoles, with more than €180,000 raised, as well as thousands of pledged donations. The EDHEC community already gave €20,000. The objective is to raise a total of €1 million. You too can do your bit!
The whole EDHEC Alumni team thanks you in advance for the welcome you will reserve for this campaign.
We hope to find you in great shape. Take good care of yourself.
