Applied Learning: EDHEC Global MBA Consulting Project
The final 8 weeks of the MBA program allow participants to put their newly acquired skills and knowledge into practice. The MBA project is a transition between the time spent at school and the entry into a new professional life. Teams of 3 to 5 participants select the project which best fits their career or learning goals and contribute over 600 team hours to complete strategic company projects.

The project must be challenging and strategic
- Involve MBA-level work with specific goals and deliverables
- Be supported by top management with an executive as champion
- Allow appropriate access to information and resources
The focus of the project should be on performance improvement and involve strategic management issues and/or changes in the organization, preferably with an international approach. Each consulting project is tailored to provide the sponsor company with strategic knowledge while enabling the MBA participants, in teams, to get their teeth into challenging questions in real-life businesses, large and small. Projects are delivered in English.
Examples of sponsor companies and past projects: Amadeus, Google, NEC, Merck, 3M, Microsoft, Thales, Alcatel Lucent, Oxylane/Decathlon, Nocilis, Daydream, Anglo Africa, SFR, United Script, France Telecom.

24 Feb Project brief (powerpoint) delivered by sponsoring company and approved by EDHEC
25 Feb – 4 Mar Winter holidays, MBAs off campus
5 to 19 Mar Project brief communicated to students via on-campus, skype or powerpoint format
21 Mar Project team of 3 to 5 participants selected on 21st March
24 Mar Introduction to MBA team which has won the bidding on company project
9 May to 4th July MBA Project team works on the project introductory meeting, regular milestone updates
July 10th Final project due (presentation, report, action, etc.)
EDHEC MBA also offers individual applied learning opportunities
MBA-level corporate internships, last between two and six months and are useful for participants to transition their skills to new industries or departments. It is an opportunity to test the fit of new roles, countries and companies before employment. The internship is an opportunity to evaluate EDHEC MBA Talent and allow international participants to start immediately while obtaining a work visa.
Research-based project leading to an MBA thesis. Companies may sponsor individual participants MBA Thesis research. The subject should be in line with the participants’ career objectives and can focus on any technical or fundamental domain in management, leadership or finance. Participants deliver a thesis report to the firm under the supervision of an EDHEC Professor.
