Dear EDHEC Alumni, The ESCP, ESSEC and EDHEC alumni networks are launching a joint call for donations to urgently support the action of NGO ALIMA, the Alliance for International Medical Action, in the fight against Covid-19 in Africa. “The number of people infected with Covid-19 in Africa is increasing dramatically. This late arrival on the African continent worries all actors on the ground. We fear a mortality rate three to five times higher than that of the rest of the world." explains Mathieu Dufour, EDHEC Master 2007, former CFO and board member of ALIMA. In anticipation ALIMA has launched an OXYGEN FOR AFRICA fundraising campaign to purchase 800 oxygen concentrators to care for Covid-19 severe cases. Our mobilisation is crucial. Already € 7,000 collected by the EDHEC community. Let's continue like this.
For each donation you make to this campaign, EDHEC Alumni will donate the same amount, with an overall budget of €5,000 allocated to this fundraising effort.
Created in 2009, ALIMA, the Alliance for International Medical Action, has become in ten years one of the main medical and humanitarian actors in the management of epidemics of infectious disease outbreaks, including viral haemorrhagic fevers such as the Ebola virus and Lassa fever. ALIMA currently operates in 12 African countries to treat more than 4,000 people every day.
The whole EDHEC Alumni team thanks you in advance for the warm welcome you will offer to this campaign. We hope to find you back soon in great shape. Take good care of yourself.
