As part of the partnership with EY Société d'Avocats, second-year students on the BLM (Business Law & Management) programme and first-year masters law students from EDHEC Business School and the law faculty of the Catholic University of Lille were honoured to be invited to the 27th floor of Tour First in La Défense on Tuesday 6 February 2018 to get an inside view of how the tax system works.
On the agenda in the morning was an in-depth look at the future of the law and tax professions in the era of big data and artificial intelligence, led by Stéphane Baller. Over lunch, Elise Tapin, Cécile Le Tarnec and Laura Grangier, who all studied law and taxation at EDHEC, shared their personal experiences at EY Société d'Avocats with the students. Patrice Jan and Guillaume Lambert then invited the students to learn more about their work on transfer prices.
As well as having the opportunity to meet with professionals and chat with graduates, the unrelenting snowfall added a little touch of magic to this excursion, which will no doubt prove decisive in the professional paths chosen by students on the BLM programme, who will be starting their internships in the spring.
