Thank you for allowing me to study in a school that was unattainable for me.
My name is Shonna Meret, I'm 21 years old, and I come from Lisieux, Normandy. Before joining EDHEC, I spent three years in a general high school in the same town. These years were enriching and helped me clarify my future path, even though my career aspirations weren't perfectly defined. That's when I embarked on two intense years of study: now I find myself in an ECG preparatory class, this time in the city of Caen. Truth be told, I loved spending these two years in this school, cherishing nothing but a wonderful experience.
I would have never imagined being capable of attending such a prestigious school as EDHEC. Indeed, in our preparatory class, EDHEC, and other higher-ranked schools, seemed difficult to reach but not impossible! So, after my surprise at being admitted to EDHEC, I pondered deeply over my choice (I would be lying if I said I didn't consider choosing a slightly lower-ranked school, fearing I wouldn't fit into the famous EDHEC). However, after much thought, my decision was made: I really like EDHEC, its programmes, its campuses, so I decided to take the risk.
Moreover, this decision came with consequences, as the tuition fees were very high, and coming from a modest family, it seemed to be a real concern for my future studies. Indeed, not having the chance to have family members who could guarantee a substantial amount (enough to cover these fees) to the bank, the possibilities available to me to finance EDHEC were limited. Fortunately, I heard about the EDHEC for All scholarship, an aid that could truly help me finance these expenses. Today, I am at EDHEC thanks to this scholarship (without which I would have been unable to fully finance my studies).
Finally, this first semester at EDHEC has been full of discoveries: new subjects, a new city, new people. I really love this life, this school, and everything is going well, and I am very grateful for it. Now, my career plan seems to be shaping up better and better: marketing and communication interest me a lot!
Thus, I wanted to thank you for this assistance, thank you for allowing me to study in a school that was unattainable for me, thank you, sincerely.
