Maxime Legardez (EDHEC 2011) and Everoad for the EDHEC Entrepreneur of the Year award
Candidate for the EDHEC Entrepreneur of the Year award
Maxime Legardez graduated from EDHEC Business School in 2011 with a Masters in Management and an MSc in Corporate Finance. During internships working on investment funds at Turenne Capital and in the Lagardère group’s Department of Strategy, he developed a passion for start-up entrepreneurship and digital technologies.
He then spent several years abroad where he helped create several companies: first in Germany, where he developed Tirendo (online marketplace for the sale of tyres, subsequently purchased for €45m), and later in Asia, where he set up GroupGlasses (an e-commerce website for glasses and sunglasses). He later joined the German firm Rocket Internet, managing foodpanda first in Russia and then Brazil, before setting up Vaniday, a booking platform for beauty care which he launched in Brazil, Milan, Dubai, Singapore, Sydney and elsewhere.
Upon his return to France in 2016, he (finally) launched his own firm! Convargo, later renamed Everoad, opened for business in June 2016 following an initial fundraising campaign that generated €2 million; 12 months later, a further €16 million were raised and the company now has a team of 50 passionate people determined to revolutionise goods transportation by road.
Everoad is a tech start-up that is enjoying strong growth and revolutionising the road haulage sector by bringing together senders and transporters in real time. This is a key sector in the economy – worth €42 billion in France and €300 billion in Europe – but is highly fragmented. Technology and digitalisation are creating a new playing field!
