  • Who are you?

I am Manish Jindal, CFA (EDHEC Alumnus, MSc Finance 2015-16 Batch)

  • Can you explain in a few words how your company began?

Bytescare (Bytescare.com): Co-founded by Vineet KUMAR (IIT BHU Alum) & Manish JINDAL (EDHEC, IIT BHU Alum), Bytescare is an AI/ML-powered technology service provider that investigates, hunts, and then takes down all unauthorized websites with infringing content. Our mechanisms investigate 24x7 so that our customers can sleep in peace.

Vineet initially started working on the idea of fighting digital piracy, and later I joined him as a co-founder to help him expand the startup by strategizing business expansion and fundraising.

We have developed proprietary technology in-house that helps us detect piracy footprints. The System automatically ranks the levels of infringement based on extent of piracy on that particular website which helps us improve efficacy and time.

Currently, we are offering the following services:

  • Pre-Piracy Solutions: To prevent piracy from occurring
  • Post-Piracy Solutions: To mitigate impact of piracy
  • Brand Reputation Solutions: To safeguard the brand equity

  • What is your first assessment of this entrepreneurial adventure?

It has been a roller coaster ride since its inception. Entrepreneurship brings with itself a new challenge on daily basis. This past one year of my entrepreneurial journey has taught me more life lessons than my 5+ years of professional career.

  • Have you benefited from the EDHEC alumni network at any time?

EDHEC alum has been immensely helpful. They have helped us with the following:

  • Networking through introductions to prospective clients.
  • Connecting with relevant people for fund-raising & investments.
  • Helping in identifying services that can ignite future growth.

  • What advice can you give to new entrepreneurs?

"ये आग का दरिया है, डूब के जाना" - It is an ocean of fire; only way to cross it is by diving into it!

I would like to give following advice to prospective Entrepreneurs:

  • Be Patient - Things will fall in place eventually.
  • Be Kind - To your employees, to your customers and above all to yourself.
  • Be Hungry – Everyday will bring its share of new challenges.
  • Be Passionate - Believe in the purpose of your start-up.
  • Be flexible – Pivoting is not a bad option. Your first idea maybe not be successful, don't make it your last idea.

  • What are the next stages for your company?

We have been growing consistently for the last 2-3 years. Have onboarded 45+ B2B clients in India.

We are now expecting to grow internationally (We have on boarded our first European client - John Wiley & Sons)

We have raised our seed round worth $250k, and we would be raising our next round in a few months.

  • Do you have expectations for the EDHEC alumni community?

We expect the following from the community:

  • Warm introductions to our prospective clients - Book Publishers, News Media Companies, Edtech Startups etc.
  • PR from the institution to spread our name across the globe
  • Fundraising support through connections or through aids/competitions etc.
  • Accelerator Programs
  • Assistance with Visa Processing for European Union/UK
