Gonzague Gridel (EDHEC 2008) and MIP robotics for the EDHEC Start-up Founder of the Year award
Candidate for the EDHEC Start-up Founder of the Year award
Gonzague graduated from EDHEC in 2008 and began his career in banking with the Inspectorate General, before moving on to financial analysis. He wanted to take on an adventure in entrepreneurship and met an engineer with expertise in robotics. Together they came up with innovative solutions involving industrial robotics. Their Paris-based firm managed to raise funds and began selling its first robots in 2017. It now has a team of 10 people, with a strong focus on R&D in mechanics, electronics and IT.
MIP robotics aims to make industrial robotics accessible to all, whether producing small or medium batches, and especially for people with no knowledge of IT or programming. They envision robots in the future that are simple to use and safe, making it possible for users to work in close proximity or in collaboration with them, but above all robots that are economical with rapid returns on investment at a low cost. This new category of robot not only makes it possible to imagine new applications but also to increase the competitiveness of the firm’s clients so they can stand out from the competition.
