François Galaine (EDHEC 2007) presents The Sheeping Company

Interviews

-

04.03.2017

-Who are you ? (Courses, diplomas, program, specialties ...)

After a brief visit to London with a broker, I worked for 8 years for start-ups in the sustainable development sector (greenhouse gas reduction and energy efficiency) in sales and project management positions. Now living in Seoul, I founded a mobile application publishing studio for children and (especially) their parents!

- How was your entrepreneurial project born?

As often a combination of factors: years with entrepreneurs, a departure in South Korea, discovery of the joys of kinship and meeting my partner. To this was added the observation that the parents are often neglected by the publishers of electronic games.

- Describe your company? (Product, market, target, team, originality ...)

The Sheeping Company (based in Paris) was born in 2016 and its sole mission is to put parents at the center of their children's games. We are 2 partners and work with 2 to 5 people on a daily basis according to the stages of development. Our clients are parents of children under 5 years. Finally, we differentiate ourselves by the place we wish to give to parents; From a specific role to setting up a routine with the child to complete the play sessions without crying. The possibilities are endless!

The easiest way is to go to the site of our first application and download it: www.shingu.io. Shingu is a small sheep all cute.

- What are the prospects for growth?

Hundreds of thousands of users from 12 to 18 months on different platforms: App Store, Play Store and Amazon, recruiting employees and diversifying to other technologies and "offline" to tackle the toy market.

- What advice can you give young entrepreneurs?

Never let it down. Listen to customers. Focus on high added value tasks.

- Have you been able to take advantage of the EDHEC graduate network at one time or another?

Yes, through advice from former EDHECs (a lot of friends in reality) but also from the business service managers and, a few years ago, via EDHEC Entrepreneurs when there was not yet an incubator.

I am especially looking forward to getting closer to France to meet professionals in the video games sector but we will also have needs in terms of support on topics related to financing.

- What are your expectations of the network? More information: website address, mail contact, physical address ...
