Franck Barthélémy (EDHEC Master 1993), Managing Director of Nogaya Art Consulting

Interviews

11.26.2020

No sooner had he graduated than Franck Barthélémy began his career in Bombay at the French embassy. He returned to the homestead one and a half years later to join the marketing department at Exxon Mobil, but hadn’t given up on a life abroad. BP later offered him a position trading petroleum products: that was where he honed his negotiating and CR skills. Over the years, he mastered the worlds of sales and logistics, which earned him a mission in India to establish BP’s presence there. The many opportunities, travels and encounters he enjoyed, combined with his commercial acumen, pointed him towards a new life, and since 2010 he has been buying and selling art. We were able to catch up with him and discuss his EDHEC years and what drives him on a daily basis.
