EDHEC’s Risk & Investment Management Students in Singapore Receive Insight into the Private Equity World
On the 22nd of November 2012, EDHEC’s Alumni Spot-light Series in Singapore had the pleasure to welcome Mr. Toufic Sehnaoui, Associate Director at Temasek Holdings.
Toufic spent the evening sharing insights on his career path and how to build a career within Private Equity. The discussion largely covered the basics about Private Equity, Investment techniques and their impact. Toufic also talked about the challenges and opportunities confronted within Private Equity nowadays and offered advice to students interested in pursuing a career within this field.
The speech was organized for the students of the MSc Risk and Investment Management programme, who as full-time professionals within the Financial Industry, follow three days of courses on EDHEC Singapore campus every month.
Toufic Sehnaoui is an Associate Director with the Investment team at Temasek in Singapore. Toufic joined Temasek in 2007 originally as part of the Technology Investment team but has now moved to a dual role in the Natural Resources Investment team and Africa and Middle East Coverage team. His job consists of evaluating investment opportunities in public or private companies in the Natural Resources space, executing transactions and divesting assets. His professional career began with a stint at Citigroup France in corporate banking. After one year, he moved on to join Colony Capital, a US private equity fund specialized in real-estate and hotels, as an analyst in their investment and asset management team. For almost four years, he worked on investment opportunities and existing assets in Europe and Singapore. Toufic holds a MSc in International Business from EDHEC Business School, France and spent his last semester at Assumption University in Bangkok, Thailand.
