EDHEC’s Career Centre multiplying efforts to favour hiring of the school’s graduates

For several years EDHEC has been guiding its students into employment and counting on its Career Centre to organise job fairs and forums for its students. At one such event, the Finance Career Days of 19 and 20 September, some forty renowned banks and investment firms—among them, BlackRock, BNP Paribas, Citi, Morgan Stanley and Société Générale—and such major multinationals as LVMH and L’Oréal were on the Nice campus to offer students in finance at EDHEC internships and jobs. The novelty this year was a virtual forum with institutions in Europe and in Asia.

‘The Finance Career Days’, says Fernanda Diaz, director of the EDHEC Career Centre, ‘are a unique opportunity, both lively and demanding, for our students to get information, to network and to get an internship or first job. Employers, for their part, have an ideal place to meet highly motivated applicants prepared to rise to the challenges the world of finance is now facing.’

This event is only the first of the many such initiatives that the Career Centre, serving 700 students, will be taking over the course of the year. As part of the Talent Identification & Career Development (TI&CD) programme, for instance, an assessment centre, including specialised workshops enabling students to improve all aspects of their applications, is opened for a week on each campus. All EDHEC students in their final year go through this programme to prepare for international recruiting competitions. The result: fifty-nine percent of the students in finance began their careers abroad.
