On June 23rd, EDHEC alumni present in Dubai gathered for the EDHEC Rendez-Vous.

An event to celebrate the EDHEC Alumni network around the theme Make Your Mark for Good. A topic, which was the center key of the whole evening thanks to inspiring speakers and the implementation of a great charity action: for every EDHEC Rendez-Vous Dubai event ticket purchased 3 meals were offered for construction workers in need.

An action proposed by Pierrick Ribes (EDHEC Alumni ambassador for the UAE) with the precious help of Amit Abha from Danway Group who oversees 100+ construction workers in Jebel Ali, Dubai. Amit cares deeply for the company’s workers and is always trying to find donations and partnerships to educate and improve the health of the workers.

Thanks to the participation of EDHEC graduates, about forty meals were served and shared between workers.

The event took place at the XVA Art Hotel located in the heart of the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, the oldest community in Dubai. Kunwal Safdar, founder of Moreish by K, Dubai's first zero-waste kitchen, catered for 15+ alumni where they had the opportunity to share a convivial moment and listen to speakers with a positive impact:

- Kunwal Safdar who launched and runs Moreish by K the first zero-waste kitchen in Dubai

- Jerome Viricel (EM Lyon alumnus) MD of Recapp by Veolia who came to present their ambition to increase the collection rate of recyclables in the UAE and improve the awareness and promote circular economy.

- Alex Misseri (EDHEC Alumnus), facilitator for the Climate Fresk in the UAE, came to present the French nonprofit organization, which aims to raise public awareness about climate change. It proposes a collaborative serious game based on 42 cards where the participants draw a Fresk which summarizes the work of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The goal is to organize the full workshop with interested alumni in Dubai in October. Alex is also the founder of astepback.org, a consulting firm advising companies on their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies.

Thanks to Pierrick and all of the contributors including the other ambassadors, Brice Escarguel and Mitesh Agarwal, participants and speakers, EDHEC Rendez-Vous Dubai took up the challenge of “Make a Mark for Good”!
