EDHEC MSc in Entrepreneurship Students Finalists for NYC Next Idea Competition

With their project “Sirocco”, Three EDHEC MSc in Entrepreneurship students have gained access to the final of the NYC Next Idea Competition. Over 160 teams from 20 countries participated to the Undergraduate Track competition and EDHEC is the only French Business School to have been selected among three other teams for the final.

The core activity of EDHEC students' company 'Sirocco' is to offer high quality full body-dryers dedicated to Sport Clubs, Spa & Hotels. The machines will provide cost and energy savings in mind for buyers and efficiency and comfort for users. Sirocco's dynamic and complementary team is determined to break into the Sports Clubs, Spa and Hotels market of New York City with its new stylish and innovative body-dryer. 

Their new eco/green products will meet both expected and unexpected clients requirements, from users' satisfaction to cost & energy savings.  Sirocco's products satisfy the growing need for more sustainable innovation in today's huge marketplace (over 1100 Sport Clubs in NYC).
 
The Final, which will bring three schools together, will be held in New York next April.  Over a week, each team will present their business plan to a committee of New York city-based venture capitalists, business angels and other New York personalities on Columbia University's premises.  The judges will make their decisions based on which business venture they would fund. The winning team will have access to the Columbia University incubator, in Manhattan, and will also win a $15, 000 prize.  As a Finalist Team, each member of the EDHEC team will receive an all-expense-paid trip to New York City in order to participate in the Final Round of the competition and learn about the City's business environment.

Sponsored by New York City Economic Development Corporation in partnership with Columbia University, this competition that runs for the second consecutive year will put contestants to the forefront of the City's latest business breakthroughs.
