EDHEC and the Ecole Centrale de Lille launch a double degree programme
EDHEC Business School and the Ecole Centrale de Lille have joined forces to create a double degree programme, delivered jointly by the two Grande Ecole institutions, based on their respective teaching and research expertise.
EDHEC Business School and the Ecole Centrale de Lille signed the partnership agreement during an official ceremony held on Wednesday 16 February 2011, when Olivier Oger and Etienne Craye highlighted the importance of this alliance for the two institutions.
In the first stage, the engineering students will be able to join the double degree programme at the Ecole Centrale de Lille and EDHEC from September 2011. After successfully completing the first two years of core courses at the Ecole Centrale de Lille, eligible candidates can take up one of the 3 tracks offered by EDHEC: "Financial Economics", "Business Management" or "European Apprenticeship Track" at Master 1 level. When they graduate from the 4-year programme, they will be awarded degrees from both schools.
According to Anne Zuccarelli, Associate Dean for Academic Programmes and Corporate Relations at EDHEC, "There is an increasingly need for firms to hire executives who can understand the underlying processes supporting the development of new technologies and innovation. The potential to train profiles with dual competencies has become one of the keys to our future competitiveness. We are delighted to join forces with the prestigious Ecole Centrale de Lille, and so pursue our double degree policy in France with a dual expertise focus (Law and Engineering)."
Etienne Craye, Director of the Ecole Centrale de Lille added, "The programme is designed to train high potential students in the managerial and engineering skills needed for executive positions in international groups. The agreement dovetails with the complementary nature of the double-degree programmes we have developed internationally in the field of science and technology that already result in over a third of our students graduating with a double degree."
