Culinary game by Guillaume Richard (EDHEC BBA 2012) wins gold at the Lépine competition
Do you like board games, as well as cooking with your family or friends? Then Devenez Chef is the game for you. This culinary card game, invented during the first lockdown by Guillaume Richard (EDHEC BBA 2012) and his business partner Joël Boilleaut, a former two-starred chef and vice-chairman of Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, has since won over many players and has just been awarded the gold medal at the prestigious Lépine competition, as well as the special award from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Well-earned recognition for the initiative initially developed to ensure the survival of a young start-up struggling through the public health crisis.
Guillaume Richard founded Workmade in 2019, which offered teambuilding games for companies around the theme of cooking, but the rise of his firm was scuppered by the pandemic.

The duo came up with the idea of making their concept accessible to a wider audience in the form of a culinary card game. The idea is simple: the players (from 2 to 6) concoct a complete menu with a list of groceries, equipment and mission cards that allow them to piece together the menu and delegate roles to each player. In 1 or 1½ hours, they have prepared a meal from start to finish with their own hands.
