Aurélien de Nunzio (EDHEC BBA 2017), candidate for the EDHEC Start-Up Founder of the Year award - Permettez-moi de construire
Candidate for the EDHEC Start-Up Founder of the Year award.
After an early career as a painter and decorator, Aurélien decided to study the economics of the construction industry. It was during his time as a student that he made up his mind to resolve one of the major problems facing homeowners on the path to achieving their home improvement goals: the legal procedures involved in getting a building permit. In 2014, he launched a hatchling start-up while still completing his studies to test his market potential. It quickly became clear that homeowners were interested in his services. Aurélien then set about creating the first version of Permetttez-moi de construire. One year later, having worked with around 10 customers, this start-up entrepreneur began a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration as part of a parallel student/employee scheme at EDHEC Business School and Leroy Merlin France. His employer spotted a good idea. Permettez-moi de construire was taken into incubation by the firm’s e-commerce team within its Entrepreneurship and Innovation unit for the entire duration of his studies. In March 2017, it announced it had raised €400,000 from Finovam Gestion (Finovam and FIRA Nord-Est). Around the same time, it joined the business acceleration programme at the Euratechnologies centre for excellence and innovation, where it established its first offices. Another fundraising campaign with a target of €1 million came to a successful conclusion in April 2019, with the support of the start-up’s historic investors as well as renowned serial entrepreneurs such as Éric Larchevêque, CEO and founder of LEDGER. This paved the way for commercial growth and the development of the next phase in the firm’s economic model, with a focus on data.
