The online directory lists students and graduates from all EDHEC programmes.
 
This directory is an invaluable tool for all users: students, graduates, businesses, recruitment agencies, etc.
The graduate directory is protected by French law no. 98-536 of 1 July 1998 and by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of 27 April 2016. The data it contains can only be used for the purposes of the EDHEC Alumni network as set out in the network’s Charter: facilitating career opportunities and mobility for graduates by putting them in contact with one another.
The information provided by graduates can under no circumstances be used for commercial or political purposes or for proselytism, subject to prosecution. Anyone who establishes a file or database with the information available on the EDHEC Alumni network and/or makes one available to a third party, whether in return for payment or free of charge, without the approval of EDHEC Alumni is liable for civil and/or criminal sanctions as set out in the French Intellectual Property Code and the GDPR.

Following the transfer of personal data onto the new platform of the EDHEC Alumni Association, we invite you to read the Terms & Conditions of the alumni.edhec.edu website:

Purpose

The alumni.edhec.edu website is a private professional social network made available by the Association of EDHEC graduates (hereafter referred to as “EDHEC Alumni”), a non-profit structure under French legislation from 1901, founded on on March 19, 2018, whose head office is located at 24 avenue Gustave Delory, CS 50411, 59057 Roubaix Cedex 1, with the aim of enabling its Members (EDHEC graduates and EDHEC students) to help each other, stay in contact, facilitate contact between them, share opportunities, exchange advice, promote training, enhance professional opportunities, jobs and careers.

The purpose of these Terms & conditions is to structure the access to and procedures for using the Website. They apply beginning on 6 May 2021, the date on which the Association’s new management platform goes online.

By activating your Account, requesting an Account, updating your profile, returning a directory update file making a booking for an event you declare that you have read and accepted these Terms & conditions in full.

 


Definitions

Words beginning with a capital letter in the Terms & conditions have the following meaning (unless expressly stipulated otherwise): 


 Website: the website of the EDHEC Alumni Association accessible at alumni.edhec.edu and which gives access to the platform’s Services;


 Users: members who have access to the services via an Account (Members, permanent staff, visitors, etc.), natural persons who register for events and the Administrators. For each type of User, access to the services can be limited by the Administrators.

 

 Members: persons for whom network membership is reserved, i.e. students and graduates from EDHEC’s diploma and degree programmes.


Administrators: employees of the EDHEC Alumni Association or volunteers authorised to use the Modules of the AlumnForce application for professional or management purposes: they have access to an Account enabling them to change the settings of the Modules and configure or carry out actions on User Accounts;


Account: a valid account providing access to the Services of the Website;


 Content: all of the content that Users can download and access from the Website, in particular but not exhaustively: articles, events, directories, profiles containing Personal Data depending on the confidentiality settings chosen by each User in their preferences;


 Personal data: all personal data relating to a natural person who has been or could be identified;


 Data protection officer: person in charge of data protection compliance within the organization. The Data protection officer is primarily responsible for informing and advising the head of data processing or subcontractor as well as their staff on ensuring compliance with the data protection regulation and national legislation, advising the organization on carrying out data protection impact studies and verifying the execution thereof, and cooperating with and serving as the contact point for the regulator.


Modules: the platform’s management applications developed by AlumnForce;


 Services: the supply by AlumnForce of the Modules and additional services as requested by the EDHEC Alumni Association, in particular settings, assistance or training, etc.;



Scope of Terms & conditions

These Terms & conditions are applicable to anyone who uses and accesses the Services of the Website. They are electronically validated by Users when they activate their Account and each time the Terms & conditions are modified. The Terms & conditions can be accessed at any time on the Website. The professional social network is not freely available. Access to it is reserved to Users from the EDHEC network who have accepted the Terms & conditions and have an Account with a username and password.

Users declare they have read and understood the Terms & conditions and agree to be bound by them.

 

Sending a letter to the Association containing your personal or professional contact details, or returning to the Association a directory update file constitutes acceptance of these Terms & conditions.

The EDHEC Alumni Association reserves the right to modify these Terms & conditions at any time by sending an email (or letter) informing Users of the new version and requiring them to read the changes.


Description of services provided by the EDHEC Alumni Association

The EDHEC Alumni Association offers its Members, via the Website, a certain number of services such as: 


 -An information service about taking part and sharing in the network (latest news, events, discussions, newsletters, wall activities, comments, internal messages, alerts, posts shared on social media, etc.)

-A newsletter

-A directory of Members and Users with access to the profiles of Users 

-A service allowing Members and Users to contact each other via an internal messaging service 

-A service providing job offers available at https://careers.edhec.edu

-A group participation service (by graduation year, section, region or country of residence)

-A ticketing service 

-A service offering good deals, projects and posts

-A sponsoring/mentoring service 

-A service providing an email address for life in the form of an alias with the possibility to redirect messages to another email address 

The purpose of all the services is to bring Members of the EDHEC Alumni Association together with the aim of facilitating contact and mutual assistance as well as enhancing the reputation of the School and its values.

 

Accessing the services

Users of the Website declare that they have the necessary skills and means to access the Website and that they have confirmed that the computer system used contains no virus and that it is operating properly.


In order to benefit from access to the network, Users must be a member of the EDHEC Alumni Association, an employee or invited by it as a visitor and have an active email address to activate their account and take part in the network. Their Account must first have been created by an Administrator.


Anonymous visitors can access the Website, consult public articles and events and see the surname, first name, degree, campus and graduation year if they conduct a search using the member’s first name and surname, but cannot see profiles, post comments or take part in discussions. They can access the registration form for events open to the public. In this case they must accept the Terms & condition to book a place and at least provide their first name, surname and an active email address.

Users agree not to employ a username or email address that could breach the rights of third parties (family name, brand, etc.) or to usurp a name, company name or registered trademark.


When they log in for the first time, Users must accept and validate the Terms & conditions and specify their password. The User will receive, following his first connection, an email inviting him to update their Account preferences with regard to alerts and the level of confidentiality for their profile information.

 

Website Administrators

Administrators declare they have been authorised to use the Services and accept these Terms & conditions on behalf of the EDHEC Alumni Association. They configure the settings of User Accounts using imports or individual entries. They configure and validate Users’ access requests. They can send access codes to Users. Administrators are also able to block a User’s access if required.


User accounts

Users can access the Services once they have validated these Terms & conditions and only if the User Account has first been set up by an Administrator with at least one First name, one Surname and an active email address. Users must provide at least one active email address and enter their password to log in for the first time. They can modify and update their email address and password at any time via their Account. They can then go to the User menu to access the different Modules on the platform subject to the access authorised depending on the type of User account they have.


Password

The password associated with each Account is strictly personal and confidential and must not be shared with third parties. Users are responsible for loss or theft of their password. We recommend that Users regularly change their passwords and choose complex passwords containing at least 8 characters and at least one number or one of the following special characters: !@#$%^&*(),.?'":{}|<>. Each User is free to modify their password at any time via their Account.


Use of services

The texts, software, images, videos, data and other media present on the website are protected by the French Intellectual property code. Users of the website undertake not to reproduce them without the express consent of the EDHEC Alumni Association and not to copy or sell all or part of the Modules and Website.


Users guarantee the EDHEC Alumni Association that they have the necessary rights, including all intellectual property rights, for the articles, testimonials, comments, images and data of any kind that they disclose on this Website, and allow it to grant the rights set out herein.


Users expressly consent to their testimonials and comments published on the Website being reproduced and/or represented free of charge in communication for the purposes of promoting the EDHEC Alumni Association or the School throughout the legal duration of the protection of said comments and testimonials.

 

Messages and images posted are the responsibility of their author, who accepts all liability and consequences thereof. In particular, the author guarantees the Association against any legal action taken by third parties due to or based on the content of their message. This means they accept liability for the amount of any penalty imposed and the associated legal defence costs, or any other financial compensation payable as a result of the dispute. The website’s representatives decline all liability for the content of messages posted by users.


Users are responsible for the Account attributed to them beginning on the date on which it is activated. It is their duty to respect the secrecy of their Account and not disclose the details to anyone. Users alone are responsible for the way their Account is used, as well as any Content published via their Account.


For the respect and good of all parties, the following are prohibited: messages of an insulting, offensive, obscene or defamatory nature, content breaching the rights of others, violent comments or ones that incite racism, pornography, paedophilia or crimes and other offences, and misappropriation of the website for the purposes of propaganda, commercial prospection or politics.


Users can alert the Administrator of any message they consider inappropriate. Without warning, the Website Administrator can delete any message that does not respect the conditions laid out above.


The EDHEC Alumni Association reserves the right, without having to justify itself, to deny access to the Website to any Visitor or User who fails to respect these Terms & conditions or the applicable legislation. In the event that, in the view of the Visitor or User concerned, an error has been made, that person can contact the Data protection Officer (DPO).

 
Participation in Groups

The Website allows Users, if the Groups Module is active, to create limited groups within the EDHEC Alumni network. They can form groups, for example based on a country or region, professional sector or theme, but also by class and/or degree programme. The Members of each group can then upload articles, events, forums, media files, and a specific directory for their group. Each Group and its Members must respect the provisions of these Terms & conditions.

Posting job offers

All Website Users in a position to post job offers agree not to use prohibited or discriminatory criteria, including the following: place of origin, sex, lifestyle, sexual orientation or identity, age, family status or pregnancy, genetic characteristics, membership or not of a particular group, whether real or assumed, ethnicity, nation, race, political opinions, trade union activities, religious beliefs, physical appearance, etc. (Art. L 1132-1, L 1142-1 and L 5531-2 of the French Labour code).

 

Personal data protection

The person responsible for processing the personal data referred to herein is EDHEC Business School and operationally the EDHEC Alumni Association.


The data relating to Users, initially added to the Website, is taken from the information provided by the User on the former Alumni NetAsso platform managed by the service provider Netanswer, the EDHEC Alumni Association, EDHEC Business School or the EDHEC Giving Foundation. This data is necessary to obtain an Account and access the services. At least a First name, Surname, Postal address, personal email address, class and/or degree programme, graduation or class year, date of birth, nationality, specialisations (background, further studies for the BBA cycle) and exchanges completed are required. The following is the minimum data required to create a new account for persons who have just registered at EDHEC Business School: First name, Surname, Postal address, personal email address, personal telephone number, class and/or degree programme, class year.

Optional complementary information can be provided by Users themselves via their profile page, or by the EDHEC Alumni Association on the basis of publicly accessible data in order to present their expertise and projects to other Users with the aim of interacting and creating communication opportunities:

- Profile picture

- Presentation 

- Personal contact details (mobile number, secondary address), married name, family status 

- Current job and professional contact details (position, job title, company, sector, etc.)

- Previous job(s) 

- Current situation and professional ambitions 

- Skills acquired and languages spoken 

- Additional training 

- Activities with associations, areas of interest and websites 


The identity of Users is publicly visible if the User has activated their public profile or Public CV. Each User is free to activate or deactivate their public profile at any time.
Some User information will remain publicly visible: Name, First Name, Degree/Training, Campus, Class or Year of graduation.

The identity of Users (Name, First Name, Degree/Training, Campus, Class or Year of graduation as well as professional background) is visible to other Users from the Directory (list and map view) and through all forms of interaction on the professional social network via a particular activity or contribution by the User to an article, event, comment, group or discussion.

The information collected from network Users via their profile and form can only be consulted by other Users from the EDHEC network. By managing their confidential settings, Users can limit access to the information about their profile depending on their User type.


Visitors from outside the network who register for an event will be required to provide the following minimum data:


- First name, Surname, personal email address


And for some events, the following data:


- Address, Telephone number, Mobile number, Birth of date, Job title, Company, Work address, Work email address


In the case of payment for a service on the Website (e.g. ticket for an event), the buyer is asked to indicate the delivery address and invoicing contact details to create the order and generate a receipt. We do not store any credit card or bank account details, which are processed by our online payment service provider and/or our bank.


When you use the Website, we automatically collect information, including personal information, about the services that you use and the way you use them. This information is necessary for the proper execution of the agreement between us so we can comply with the legal obligations and also based on our legitimate interest in being able to provide and improve functions on the Website:


- Geolocation information: when you use certain functions on the Website, in order to provide you with a better user experience, we may collect information about your location using your IP address or the GPS of your mobile device. Most mobile devices allow you to control or deactivate the use of geolocation services in applications through the device settings.

 

 - User information: we collect information about the way you interact with the Website, such as which pages or content you consult, your searches, your ticket reservations and other actions on the website with the aim of improving its Services.


 - Connection and device data: we automatically collect connection and device data when you access the Website. This information includes among other things: information about the way you have used the website, IP address, access dates and times, data about the computer equipment and software used, data about the device, data associated with use of the device, unique user names, data about crashes and cookies.

 

This information allows us to improve the performance of the Website and the quality of the Services, but also to detect and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents and other harmful activities.

 

Users agree to always provide sincere and truthful Personal data and to update it if necessary so it is complete and accurate. We will be required to solicit you on a regular basis to this end.

 

User rights


 A User’s information contained on the Website and/or database of the EDHEC network remains the property of that User. In accordance with the applicable European regulations, Users of the Website have the following rights:

 - right of access (Article 15 GDPR) and right to rectify (Article 16 GDPR), update and complete User data
- right to erasure of Personal User data (Article 17 GDPR)
- right to withdraw consent at any time (Article 13-2c GDPR)
- right to restriction of User data processing (Article 18 GDPR)
- right to object to User data processing (Article 21 GDPR)
 - right to the portability of User data provided (Article 20 GDPR)

 

Any network User is free to modify or erase information they have entered on the network. They can also demand that information relating to them as provided by the EDHEC Alumni Association, EDHEC Business School or the EDHEC Giving Foundation be rectified, completed, clarified, updated or deleted. 

To help keep the platform up to date, the association may complete the Members' profile directly or via a third party service from various public sources.

Before replying to a request, we may verify your identity and/or ask you to provide more information so we can reply. We will do our best to reply within a reasonable timeframe (confirming receipt of your request within 5 days) and, whatever the circumstances, within the legal timeframe.

Personal data processing

The EDHEC Alumni Association process your personal data when you access and/or use the Website. This refers in particular to data collected by the EDHEC Alumni Association when a User activates their Account or updates information in their User profile.

The EDHEC Alumni Association alone is authorised to hold this data and undertakes not to sell it or transfer it to third parties and to ensure that this information is not processed for purposes other than its updating and posting on the Website.

However, under the responsibility of the Association and as part of projects in which it is involved, this information may be shared with EDHEC Business School or the EDHEC Giving Foundation.

 
The alumni.edhec.edu Website is protected by the provisions of the Intellectual property code, particularly in relation to the protection of databases. Anyone who establishes a file or database with the information available on the Website and makes it available to a third party, whether in return for payment or free of charge, without the approval of the EDHEC Alumni Association is in breach of these Terms & conditions and the GDPR and liable for civil and/or criminal sanctions as set out in the French Intellectual Property Code.

 

Duration of data storage

We only store your data long enough to pursue our objectives, in accordance with the legal provisions. 


Security
Website Users recognise that they have been informed of the risks associated with using the Internet and networks, and in particular that information relating to their personal data can be copied or intercepted.


Website Users accept these risks, for which the EDHEC Alumni Association can under no circumstances be held liable. The EDHEC Alumni Association, for its part, deploys all of the technical and human resources necessary to ensure an ongoing basis a level of security that complies with current practices in this domain and to prevent attacks from malevolent parties. Some of the measures of protection we use to protect your information include firewalls and encrypted data transmission using SSL/HTTPS technology.


Guarantee
The EDHEC Alumni Association takes particular care in ensuring the accuracy of the information exchanged on the Website and to update it regularly. However, errors or omissions can occur. In this case, please inform us so we can make the necessary corrections. When making regular verifications and other interventions, the Website Administrator undertakes not to modify the Content in a way that could change its meaning. However, he/she reserves the right to move Content if there is a flagrant error in its classification.

 

The EDHEC Alumni Association does not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Website, particularly in the case of an intervention for maintenance, repairs or Internet connection disturbances. It cannot be held liable for technical failures and the related loss of data, or for any other indirect damage that occurs during or linked to use of the website.


Applicable legislation

These Terms & conditions are governed by French law alone. Any dispute arising in relation to the validity, interpretation and/or execution, termination, or breach of these Terms & conditions, and after all reconciliation efforts have failed, shall be brought before the competent Tribunal.
