Brief presentation

I am Franco-Armenian and was educated in France following the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. I completed the prépa curriculum at HEC Champollion Grenoble and graduated from the EDHEC class of 1991 in Lille. - I began my career in pharmaceuticals at Eli Lilly in 1992 as part of a Hi Po Sales + Marketing programme. After 3 years in Paris, I went to the US where I joined L’Oréal’s consumer goods marketing department in NY as product manager. I became Marketing Director in 10 years (shampoo and colouring) and took a new direction in my career in 2006, specialising in talent management and drawing on my operational business experience in an emerging HR domain: talent management. I provide career development services for US marketing executives/executive committees (approx. 300 people) and expats in the US (100 people). After nearly 23 years with L’Oréal in the US (20% of L’Oreal’s global revenue), I became involved in the Association for EDHEC graduates by becoming an ambassador for the Grandes Ecoles network in New York. Modest contribution to EDHEC academic grant scheme.

Reasons I wish to join the EDHEC Alumni Board of Trustees

Give something back to young professionals starting out. Perpetuate the value of an exceptional education and a unique network on the American continent.

My proposals for this mandate

• Roll out the EDHEC network on the east (and west?) coast, capitalising on the recent appointment and launch of a country office in NY
• Develop activities for EDHEC graduates beyond social events with a greater focus on careers coaching/mentoring
• Support local partnerships initiated by head office with renowned universities in professions offering synergies with the EDHEC group’s positioning (e.g. Data Science)
