Brief presentation

Having finished my apprenticeship in Vietnam in 2003, I began my career as a consultant in marketing and events after completing a specialist Master’s course on south-east Asia. That early experience in Vietnam allowed me to get a 2-year position on the VIE programme at a Franco-Vietnamese business school in Ho Chi Minh City, where in 2008 I coordinated a series of economic, cultural and sports events as part of "La Semaine Française au Vietnam". I made the most of the strong visibility of these events and seized the opportunity, together with my wife, to set up consultancy and marketing firm Blue Gate, which we have been managing and expanding for 10 years. In 2013, a partner and I founded Workin'Asia, an employment website dedicated to local and expat managers in south-east Asia. My involvement within the French business community in Vietnam also gave me the chance to become a board member of CCI France Vietnam in 2011, and I have served as vice-Chairman since 2017. I also set up and chaired the local branch of Club VIE in 2011, and since 2016 I have helped run the local Club APM (Association Progrès du Management), which brings together a group of around 15 entrepreneurs and business executives. My involvement in the life of the EDHEC network began in 2005, when I spoke to students at ESPEME (about cultural differences between the West and East). But it was in 2010 that I took on a more active and tangible role within the network, first by becoming an EDHEC Resource and participating in the “Lost Contacts” challenges, and later by joining the Mentoring programme. In 2013, I also set up the Vietnam Club and am an annual participant at the EDHEC Alumni Ambassadors Day.

Reasons I wish to join the EDHEC Alumni Board of Trustees

Better understand the interactions between the school and the Association and get to know the permanent teams working for each one in order to:
- Better represent and promote EDHEC, its students and alumni internationally and particular in Asia, where I live
- Participate in working groups (international, careers, etc.) for which my profile and experience could prove useful, and contribute more generally to the life of the Association

My proposals for this mandate

- Actively take part in the different meetings and seminars organised by the board (either in person or by videoconference), and also in one or two of the working groups (particularly those linked to international aspects, careers overseas and digital strategy).
- Participate in the major EDHEC Alumni events, in particular the EDHEC Rendez-Vous (organise the Vietnam edition) and Ambassadors Day in Paris.
- Help strengthen the links between alumni and international clubs, the school and the Association.
- Contribute to the development of regional exchanges and synergies between international clubs.
- Support the development of clubs internationally (identify potential ambassadors to create or relaunch clubs, etc.) and contribute to the international notoriety of EDHEC and the Association.
- Reflect on the different potential opportunities of combining the networks (inter-network events, etc.), particularly in an international context, and take concrete measures to develop this.
- Reflect on ways to mobilise the network to increase both the number of profiles updated on the association’s website and the number of job offers and apprenticeships posted, especially overseas.
