L'Edhec'Honneurs

L'Edhec'Honneurs

Presentation

Former members of EDHEC Lille & Nice Rugby Club
Date created: September 2002

The idea behind L’EDHEC'HONNEURS was to bring together former Edhec Lille and Nice Rugby Club players who work in Paris to try and make a team.
The initiative got a great response from former players and many of them quickly signed up when the team was launched in September 2002.
Today, the club has nearly 50 members from different Edhec generations and it also welcomes students who’re in Paris for an internship or a gap year. In addition to the twenty or so matches the team plays every year, L’EDHEC'HONNEURS also organises an annual Gala Match in Paris between “old” and “young” teams during the weekend preceding the Forum or the Gala.
EDHEC'HONNEURS has been a member of AFFR (Association France Folklo Rugby – www.affr.asso.fr) since its creation in September 2002.

Aims

The A.F.F.R. brings together teams on the fringe of club championships so that everyone can enjoy and develop ‘spontaneous’ rugby matches. Created with 6 teams at the beginning of 1996, the A.F.F.R now includes some 80 teams that count around 3,000 players in and around Paris in an amateur championship framework. The teams come from very different backgrounds:
•         Alumni from the Grandes Ecoles (ENA, Dauphine, EM Lyon, ESCP, Centrale Lyon, X…),
•         Organisations (Deloitte, Accenture, France 2, Canal +, Crédit Lyonnais, Internes Paris hospitals…),
•         or simply groups of friends (Agenais émigrés à Paris, Anciens du Stade Français…)
The values promoted by the AFFR are the same as those of L'EDHEC'HONNEURS: fraternity, conviviality, fair-play and enthusiasm for sport.
