EDHEC ALUMNI AND EDHEC BBA ALUMNI SUPPORT BUDDING BUSINESS VENTURES

Origins
Edhec Alumni and the EDHEC BBA Association, true to its aim to promote the entrepreneurial spirit throughout EDHEC Business School, have become involved in funding young innovative start-ups with the launch of EDHEC BUSINESS ANGELS, affiliated to the FRANCE ANGELS network.
EDHEC Business Angels was founded in 2010 and today counts around forty members. In 2011, we received about 35 applications. We examined twenty or so of them and finally selected 6 to present to the members. In the end, two projects were financed for a total of €40,000.

We are currently involved in setting up a network of Grandes Ecoles alumni, which will increase our financial and material leverage as well as our access to new business ventures.

Who’s in it?
EDHEC BA includes EDHEC (EDHEC + BBA) alumni who want to support and finance young innovative or growing start-ups.

Once a member, potential investors have free access to the presentations and may decide, but only if they so wish, to take part in the discussions with a view to investing.
No minimum investment is required and the final decision is made by each individual Business Angel.
We would remind you that these investments can, in certain cases, give rise to tax benefits.

Who’s it for?
It’s intended for business start-ups and entrepreneurs looking for funding. They come from all horizons and being an EDHEC alumnus is not considered a selection criteria.

How?
First of all, a selection committee examines the applications and gets in touch with the budding entrepreneurs looking for funding so as to make a first selection.
The successful applicants are then called in to a presentation meeting organised in collaboration with ENSAE BA.

Partners

EDHEC BUSINESS ANGELS is affiliated to the FRANCE ANGELS network. EBA is open to all EDHEC and EDHEC BBA alumni, whatever their programme. The association provides its members with the details of businesses looking for funding, giving them an opportunity to invest in and support the development of their chosen start-up.

BADGE : EDHEC Business Angels is proud to have contributed to the formation of the Grandes Ecoles Business Angels network.

Determined from the outset to join other networks in order to extend our options, our association has been involved in a number of initiatives, signing a partnership agreement to exchange projects with XMP Business Angels in 2010, and organising joint start-up and business venture presentation meetings with the ENSAE since 2011. These two initiatives have had a significant impact on the development of EDHEC Business Angels.

Fully aware of the need to go further, we prompted and played an active role in the discussions that resulted in the creation of the Grandes Ecoles Business Angels network, otherwise known as BADGE. The new set-up will give us access to an even larger number of projects, while maximising the capacity for financial investment. In practical terms, it will also give us far better developed structures for analysing and studying business ventures looking for funding, that will in turn lead to faster and more efficient outcomes, benefitting both business owners and Business Angels.
