After a successful launch event on how individuals can make a positive impact on the planet both as consumers and employees, the Board of EDHEC Alumni UK is very pleased to continue its 2-year programme of activities aiming at addressing the urgent challenge of sustainability with a second panel discussion focusing on sustainable finance.
This hybrid event, held both on the EDHEC London campus and online on Thursday 8th June at 6.30pm, will feature a panel with high-calibre industry speakers and allow some time for interaction with the audience.

Daniel Flatt, Editor In Chief New Statesman Media Group
An award-winning sustainable finance and investment journalist, Daniel has 18 years B2B journalism experience, 12 of which spent in Asia, launching finance journals producing breaking news, in-depth feature reporting and managing reporters and editors of varying skillsets. Topic expertise includes sustainable finance, capital markets, asset management and banking.
As editor-in-chief of Capital Monitor, a title dedicated to analysing the impact of sustainable capital, Daniel is responsible for setting out the editorial scope and vision of the brand and building a team of experienced editors to execute it. Backed by sister company Global Data, Capital Monitor is a very data-focused publication with a mission to measure the real-world impact of sustainable capital, notably for asset owners. Daniel was recently awarded “Best Editorial Comment” in the State Street Institutional Press Awards, 2022.
Before his current role Daniel was the editorial director of Haymarket’s multiple award-winning portfolio of finance and investment brands in Hong Kong, with total annual revenues exceeding US$20 million and in charge of circa 60 people.

Teresa Farmaki, Managing Partner, Co-Founder and member of the Investment Committee of Astarte Capital Partners
She has over 20 years’ experience in structuring, execution and senior management across the spectrum of private equity investments.
Astarte is an asset manager focusing on sustainable real assets across Europe and North America, primarily in mid-market opportunities within the areas of infrastructure, energy transition and natural capital. Astarte’s main investment strategy is to act as strategic investor and anchor capital to emerging managers and thematic investment platforms that can demonstrate strong track record and growth potential in their specific asset class. ESG is core to Astarte’s investment approach and is fully integrated as a comprehensive and proactive framework to assess, create and measure impact across the portfolio.
Laurence Alexandre, Head of Sustainable Finance UK at Societe Generale (EDHEC 2010)
Laurence has over 10 years experience in banking, including in project finance and structured debt. In 2021, she established the UK desk for sustainable finance within Societe Generale, covering UK and Irish clients. Her team’s missions include structuring sustainable finance solutions such as sustainability-linked or green loans / bonds and working closely across the bank to accompany clients on their ESG journey.
Benedicte Hautefort, co-CEO & Founder Scalens
Bénédicte Hautefort is an entrepreneurial fintech and ESG / governance expert in Paris, CEO and cofounder of Scalens, first fintech dedicated to listed companies, with clients including both corporates, investors, and regulatory authorities in 10 european countries and UK. As board member of two listed companies, as Audit committee Chair or ESG committee member, she has an in-depth field experience of governance topics. Besides, she is influential on Paris marketplace, as founding member of Institut Français des Administrateurs (IFA) and holds a weekly column in Challenges magazine.
Laetitia Girolami, Sustainability Director at Global Banking EMEA (EDHEC 1997)
Laetitia GIROLAMI BOYER leads Sustainability for BNP Paribas UK Global Banking and Corporate Coverage since Sept 2022.
She was previously spearheading the development of BNP Paribas’ Sustainable Finance within Debt Capital Markets. In the past 20 years, Laetitia has held a number of origination roles in Global Markets, Structure Finance and Coverage in London, Paris and Hong Kong, fostering relationships with both corporate and institutional clients.
Within Global Banking Sustainability Office, in the context of BNP Paribas’ Growth Technology Sustainability 2025 plan, Laetitia’s role is to strengthen the sustainability franchise of Global Banking EMEA by proactively engaging with our clients and roll out ESG commercial roadmaps and bringing a 360° view on BNP Paribas products, contents and commitments, as well as market trends thus helping to structure a unique value-added proposition for clients.
Anthony Hobley, Executive Fellow, Centre for Nature & Climate World Economic Forum
Anthony is Executive Fellow, Strategic Engagement, Center for Nature and Climate, World Economic Forum and Senior Advisor to the CEO & Chair, Advisory Board, Mission Possible Partnership. Anthony was Chief Executive Officer of the Carbon Tracker Initiative from February 2014 to March 2019, and now is co-chair of the Advisory Board. Previously he was a partner and Global Head of the Sustainability & Climate Finance Practice at global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. Formerly he was General Counsel to the Climate Change Capital Carbon Fund and Director of Legal Policy for Climate Change Capital which he joined in September 2005.
