Speakers
Aziz Kaouech – EDHEC Alumnus 2018, Co-founder of Dooda, Head of Research & Engagement at the EDHEC Centre for Net Positive Business
Aziz Kaouech is a proud Tunisian who left his home country in 2012 to study Financial Economics at EDHEC Business School in Nice and London.
After graduating with a master's degree in 2018, Aziz worked in technology and the fast-moving consumer goods industry in Paris and London. He then decided to create his own business — Dooda, a startup that uses insects to create a nutrient-rich protein powder for feed. Dooda’s goal is to promote climate-friendly food production and reduce food scarcity.
Dooda and Aziz were recently featured in a short film called Leader Generation that spotlights business school students and graduates who are challenging the status quo. Aziz’s story with EDHEC is not finished yet. He was recently appointed to lead research at the school’s Centre for Net Positive Business, where he will identify new sustainable business models and work with existing businesses to help them transition to more sustainable operations.
Yasmine Machwate – Head of EDHEC Incubators
Yasmine supports over 100 founders each year in launching and structuring their ventures, driven by the conviction that economic performance and positive impact must go hand in hand.
Together with Justine Soudier, she co-created the RED Methodology (Responsible Entrepreneurship by Design) — a framework designed to help founders embed sustainability, inclusion, and ethics into their ventures from day one.
This approach has already reached more than 1,000 founders, VCs, and ecosystem partners, notably through the Startup Responsibility Guide and the serious game they developed.
Shahzad Ahmed – EDHEC Alumnus 2015, Co-founder of Hoja AI
Shahzad graduated from EDHEC in 2015. He moved to the UK in 2021, transitioning from fashion to the tech industry. Alongside co-founders Pavan Konanur (Insead), Dr. Katherine Tatarinov (University of Geneva) and Fouad Yaseen (Malardalen), he launched Hoja AI in January 2024.
Traditional educational methods often struggle to provide personalized attention to each student, leading to disengagement and ineffective learning experiences. This issue is exacerbated by rising tuition costs, creating barriers to quality education
Recognising this issue, Hoja AI was founded to democratize education by offering personalized, AI-driven study companions that adapt to each learner's unique needs, making education more engaging, accessible, and cost-effective
Hoja is early on in its journey but already has 20K active learners on the platform along with pilots with the United Nations, Institute Florimont and the Government of Pakistan.
