How unconscious bias affect our career development 


Thank you all for being part of the first women circle in the EDHEC UK Alumni community. During this year, we had the chance to share and discuss on our purpose, our blockers and what was success for us. 

For this last session, we would like to invite you to discuss on unconscious bias and how it might affect non only our decision making but our own career advancement. 

This session promises to be thought-provoking, enlightening, and ultimately empowering as we delve into a topic that is crucial for professional growth and equality.


AGENDA

  1. Welcome and Introduction (5 mins) Brief overview of the session and its purpose. 
  2. Understanding Unconscious Bias (15 mins): Presentation or discussion on the concept of unconscious bias, its forms, and how it manifests in corporate environments.
  3. Impact on Women in the Corporate World (20 mins): Interactive discussion exploring specific examples of unconscious bias and how they affect women's advancement, opportunities, and experiences in the workplace.
  4. Strategies for Overcoming Unconscious Bias and personal experiences (15 mins): Group brainstorming session in breakout rooms to identify strategies and techniques for recognizing and mitigating unconscious bias both individually and within organizational structures.
  5. Q&A and Open Discussion (15 mins): Open floor for questions, comments, and further discussion on the topic.
  6. Closing and Announcement (5 mins)


We encourage all participants to come prepared to engage in open and honest dialogue, to share their perspectives, and to contribute to creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
