A lively evening with the Sustainable Development Club

Network

-

06.22.2010

If you’d looked round the door, you’d have seen about fifty young professionals chatting away… but not a conference speaker in sight! On June 7,the Sustainable Development Club organised an unusual evening event - a tasting-debate over a glass of natural wine!
The main purpose behind this meeting was to taste the wines, of course, but also to meet up with other alumni during an evening dedicated to both oenology and sustainable development, and above all, to have a really relaxing evening. And for the SD Club, to end the year in a particularly enjoyable way.
The venue was the Sourires de Dante, a small restaurant in the 14th arrondissement of Paris. And there was a good reason for choosing this restaurant, as the owner only serves natural wines, without any artificial ingredients at all. This appellation shouldn’t be confused with organic wines, which are made from organically grown grapes, but are matured using traditional methods that include chemical products.
There was plenty of lively talk around the tables as the participants lost no time in making acquaintance and catching up on the news. The bottles were uncorked one by one under the eagle eye of Erick Delille, an independent wine maker: Château Revelette 2008 (Coteaux d’Aix),  Domaine de Terrebrune 2009 (Bandol)… White, red and rosé, the magic potion did its work and the atmosphere became increasingly relaxed: while some shared their passion for rugby, a few seats down others discussed their plans for the summer ...
One member of the organisation told us : “The most important thing in this type of event is for it to gel between the people who come. We want to promote discussion and networking so that maybe one day they’ll decide to develop a project together!”
At any rate, it’s a very enjoyable way to strengthen ties between the members of the network.
