On 20 September, Philippe Leopold-Metzger (GE 1977), CEO of Piaget and EDHEC Alumnus of the Year 2012, invited the Swiss alumni to the Piaget plant for a prestigious evening featuring the Piaget and Bvlgari brands, and the luxury market in general. During the evening, the guests donated generously to the Rising Talents fund-raising campaign, and more specifically, for EDHEC’s ‘luxury’ courses.
The 60 or so Edhec Switzerland alumni donated over 3000 euros during the evening, which will be used by the two MSc programmes with luxury options: the Marketing Management MSc and the Global Business MSc.
After discussions with Philippe Leopold-Metzger, Stéphane Lury (GE 1996 and Senior Account Manager at BVLGARI) and Francis Seban (GE 1990 and EDHEC Switzerland Ambassador), EDHEC, represented in particular by the Academic Programmes department, decided to use the money as follows:
- 1500 euros will be used to purchase several Harvard case studies, two of which have already been ordered.
- 1500 euros will be set aside for a Student prize for the best "Luxury-related Master’s Project."
The prize will be called the "Piaget/Bvlgari Luxury Award," supported by the EDHEC Switzerland community.
The two case studies on order are:
- Preserve the Luxury or Extend the Brand? Daniela Beyersdorfer, Vincent Dessain, Corinne Mentzelopoulos, Philippe Sereys de Rothschild,
- Louis Vuitton in Japan Justin Paul, Charlotte Feroul
Congratulations and a big thank you to the EDHEC community in Switzerland!
