The EDHEC Alumni Healthcare Club is delighted to be hosting the following conference:

“What role will hospitals play in the healthcare system of the future?”

This event will take place in french

Every country tries to control and optimise its healthcare expenditure, which, like population numbers and long-term conditions, is constantly on the rise. Technological innovations have primarily had an impact on the effectiveness of care but have yet to bring down overall costs.

Hospitals generally bear witness to the beginning and end of our lives, as well as the accidents we endure along the way. They often display the highest standards when it comes to expertise and technologies, and are generally the primary source of expenditure and the biggest employers in agglomerations.

Can and should hospitals one day be “emptied” thanks to technological progress, improved practices and organization, healthcare in the home, remote medicine or connected devices?

Our roundtable discussion will address these issues with the participation of:

Dr Bénédicte Fraleu Louer, head of digestive surgery at the CH de Versailles and treasurer of the French society of oncological surgery (SFCO), will be talking about the transformation of medical and organizational practices that have improved patient recovery after surgery, allowing them to return home sooner

 - Vincent Cheney (EDHEC Master 1980), Senior Business Partner with Nextep, will be discussing what is at stake in the development of healthcare in the home

Raphaël Du Besset (EDHEC 2000), Associate Director of Synodis, will be presenting the role of the interoperability of Information Systems, IoT and blockchains

The conference will be followed by drinks and hors d’oeuvres to allow delegates to pursue the discussion.
