YOU ARE WITH A RECRUITER – ADOPT THE RIGHT ATTITUDE
SUCCESS FACTORS
RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HR CONSULTING AGENCY
THE RECRUITMENT AGENCY IS THE CANDIDATE’S PARTNER
• Build a relationship based on honesty and trust
• Keep the agency updated on any steps you’ve taking, respect and keep any appointments.
• Give them references from your previous job: the name of your manager, the people you managed and a colleague or client you worked with.
• Agencies guide the candidate, will coach them about the client’s needs, will fight for their "protégé"
• The agency presents 3 to 4 candidates to the end client
• The agency keeps the candidatures
• Cultivate your relationship with the agency and the HR consultants you know.
• Clients have a choice in these difficult times and are looking for excellence
• Be patient, recruitment processes are taking longer and longer as are the clients’ answers
TIPS ON HOW TO PRESENT YOURSELF
FUNNEL METHOD
• Explain the global aspect of the structure
• Your position
• A project you’ve been involved in
• Any difficulties encountered, your failures
• How you managed to resolve the difficulties, overcome failures and draw positive lessons from the experience
DURING THE INTERVIEW
OPTIMISE YOUR PERSONALITY
• Adopt the "NON VERBAL" attitude: smile, be positive, concrete
• Show your enthusiasm, your motivation to join the company
• Be charming but on standby: I’m not interested at the moment but I could be later
• Be natural, genuine
BE PROFESSIONAL
• Adapt your conversation to the job
• Consolidate your conversation with motivation
• Show that you know about the company, the sector, the position, etc.
• Take notes - "no notes = no motivation"
• Ask questions about the job, projects, team, budget, competitors, market, etc.
ISSUE OF REMUNERATION
• Wait for the right moment to speak about it but once the subject has been raised, tell them what you expect, be firm, specific about your fixed and variable pay expectations, perks, bonus, etc.
• Speak openly and sincerely
• Don’t forget that the higher the candidate’s salary, the larger the agency’s percentage
MISTAKES TO AVOID
• Don’t go ahead and accept a job while the candidature is still open with the agency without informing them first.
• Don’t forget to warn your references that they may be contacted by the agency
• Don’t relentlessly contact the HR agency when they too are waiting for the client’s decisions.
• Understand how to manage your own communication on the social media
• Be careful about how you show your emotions, don’t show frustration about a given experience
