Elena Pennarun (GE 1999) has more than one string to her bow as, after working for some time in the field of management control and finance, she launched Ecolili in December 2012. Her website www.ecolili.com is designed to make organic food simple and accessible via a subscription to the monthly ‘box’ that includes a selection of organic groceries, fact sheets and recipes.
“The aim of the Ecolili project is to provide a simple and clever way to discover (or rediscover) organic products. While organic products are increasingly popular, many people still think that they are complicated, expensive, or even dull or off-putting,” Elena Pennarun, the founder, told us. The aim of Ecolili is to help people discover organic cooking in its widest sense, explaining all of its interest and surprises, and helping anyone who wants to know more to gradually learn about it, especially through the monthly box, which is both practical and fun.”
The Ecolili box, organic and gourmet surprises for a fun introduction to organic food
Ecolili uses the box concept, which is widely used in many other sectors. Every month, customers get a surprise parcel sent directly to their home with a selection of exclusively organic products. Half of the products are ingredients for recipes or for practicing useful organic product techniques. The other half are ready to eat products. The selected items come from different families: cereals and legumes, drinks, condiments, spreads, jams and biscuits.
“The aim is to find and select high-quality, complementary products and, of course, to play around with surprises and discoveries,” Elena explained. The box also contains recipe sheets and tips that give the subscriber the keys to easy organic cooking.
An internet site to subscribe for the box, read blog and choose from gourmet gift boxes
The website www.ecolili.com is Ecolili’s showcase, where you can subscribe for the box, read the blog, and browse the e-store where you can buy a variety of gourmet and organic gift boxes. The blog provides another source of recipes and tips, as well as interviews with experts, authors and creative cooks who also offer their insights and advice.
