II/ Project
GROSSO MODO EDITIONS is a small board games publishing house launched in October 2011. We are currently marketing POLICE PARTY. POLICE PARTY is a cross between poker and Trivial Pursuit, and based on the police: investigation techniques, spying, thrillers, cinema, etc. It is sold in France and in Switzerland by Paille (700 sales outlets) and directly to institutions and over the internet by GROSSO MODO.

Originality
GROSSO MODO was created to publish mainstream and family board games based on subject areas with a strong identity that have never previously been used in games, and which have good media potential. This is where our business strategy and added value lies.
Not only is POLICE PARTY an excellent game, but we were also able to develop good communication over the first game that is based entirely on the world of the police. The media buzz over POLICE PARTY led to a number of TV presentations on M6 (100% Mag), Canal+ (La Nouvelle Edition), BFM and LCI, and on the radio, especially France Inter, Europe 1 and RTL (Les Grosses Têtes), as well as in the written press. The official launch of the game on 21 November thus benefitted from a major communications campaign during the build-up to Christmas.
Growth prospects
In 2012: launch of POLICE PARTY in Poland, publication of an English version, reediting of a 1970s game and publication of a new mainstream game
III/ What I’d like from the Edhec network
We hope that the EDHEC network will:
- Want to give an original and fun-filled gift and will log onto www.police-party.com and order a copy of the game!
- Give us the contact details of professionals who can help us to distribute the English version of POLICE PARTY abroad, particularly: lawyers who can help us with distribution agreements and lawyers with knowledge about intellectual property rights, and the media.
- Help us to find a lawyer specialised in audio-visual contracts who may be able to help us following a request from a production company.
