Leeway offers innovation to legal professionals with Smart Compare, revolutionising the way contracts are managed.

Leeway is a French start-up with the ambition of using technology to facilitate a task considered complex and time-consuming: managing contracts.
To achieve this, the company offers an intuitive and secure platform allowing legal departments to manage the entire life-cycle of a contract with great efficiency.

With Smart Compare, Leeway aims for a threefold reduction in the time spent negotiating a contract by transforming a task that has so far been 100% manual into a fluent and dependable process. To do this, the start-up has developed a unique technology to compare and monitor amendments, enabling legal professionals to be much more productive.

"Smart Compare is the fruit of collaborative work that started a year ago when we met with no fewer than 120 legal professionals working in France. Through this function, we are proud to be able to help them concentrate on their core profession: offering legal advice,” explains Antoine Fabre, CEO and co-founder of Leeway.

What does Smart Compare do?

We often hear about the progress made possible by digital technology. With Leeway, all of the contract negotiations are managed online, with each version of the contract automatically saved and failsafe monitoring of all amendments made to the document.

Among other things, this solution enables the user to import contract templates in Word format, send them to the contracting parties, and compare and display amendments directly on the platform once the text has been revised using Smart Compare.

“From start to finish, the administrative tasks involved in exchanging documents were taking up more time than legal aspects. This function is a perfect illustration of our ambition to move contracts into the digital era, for the benefit of legal professionals,” says Antoine Fabre.

Partnership with DocuSign

To offer a comprehensive experience, the start-up decided to go even further and integrate the DocuSign solution as an electronic signature by default with the aim of allowing its clients to sign their contracts via the platform and with preferential rates.

Antoine Fabre goes on to say, “Teaming up with DocuSign, we chose the world’s leading electronic signature service provider so we could offer our clients unrivalled dependability and security, compliant with the eIDAS regulation."

Antoine Fabre (ENIT 2016), Sébastien Decrême (ISEN 2012) and Thibaut Caoudal (EDHEC BBA 2015) launched Leeway in June 2019. The start-up joined the EDHEC Entrepreneurs @Station F programme in December 2019.
