I wanted to write an article to explain why I decided to get involved more in the life of my School and the EDHEC Alumni network.
After almost 4 highly formative years in Mergers & Acquisitions at HSBC, I decided to join Jouve & Associés, a recruitment firm for top executives, with the conviction that the human dimension is the trump card for any organisation.
With the twofold aim of actively enhancing the reputation of my School and meeting the top executives of the future, this year I took part in the admission jury panels for EDHEC’s Grande Ecole programme.
Following that enriching experience I decided to develop closer links with the EDHEC Alumni network, drawing on my experience in corporate banking and my knowledge of the job market to share careers advice with young students and graduates.
And so I am now an EDHEC Resource, a position that allows me to be a privileged contact point for students and graduates with questions or in need of advice about specific issues.
I also decided to become an EDHEC Mentor, which will enable me to establish long-term relationships of trust with students with a view to accompanying them in the key moments of their professional lives (career orientation, looking for an internship, job, etc.).
Ultimately, contributing to the life of my School is a way to establish a win-win situation for students and graduates on the one hand, and between EDHEC and companies on the other: I offer my services and give up some of my time, which in return allows me to meet the talented people of the future who, once they graduate from EDHEC and have the support of the Alumni network, will be able to use their skills to match the needs of companies and thus maximize their chance of success going forward.
