EO1 is the first vessel in history to have completed a round-the-world voyage combining a 100% renewable energy mix with hydrogen produced on board through seawater electrolysis. As a floating lab for low-carbon innovation, EO1 has proven that it is possible to sail with zero emissions, zero fine particles, and zero noise, combining cutting-edge technologies with energy sobriety.
As part of the 2025–2033 Expedition "A Journey to Carbon Neutrality", EO1 continues its mission across Europe, raising awareness and helping to decode the challenges of the energy transition ahead of the handover to the future EO3 laboratory vessel in 2027.
EDHEC Alumni UK is delighted to offer 12 exclusive places to our alumni for an onboard visit during the London stopover. The week begins with a symbolic arrival on 25 April at sunset, marked by the opening of Tower Bridge, and runs through to 29 April at Tower Bridge Quay.
During this one-hour visit, you’ll have the opportunity to step aboard Energy Observer 1, a true laboratory vessel powered by a mix of renewable energies and hydrogen. This moment will be an opportunity to share the story of the ship, its completed odyssey around the world, and the new 2025–2033 Expedition: A Journey to Carbon Neutrality, launched last June and already rich with new projects and inspiring encounters. Guests will be able to explore the vessel, immerse themselves in the Energy Observer universe, and meet the crew.
About the 2025–2033 expedition
Organised around 7 successive missions spanning Europe, Africa, the Americas, Asia, and the Arctic, the expedition combines navigation, technological demonstration, field documentation, and partner engagement — with international reach. The current mission (2025–2026) focuses on carbon capture: industrial technologies and natural sinks.
