EDHEC Speaker Series "The Future of Finance" - online (zoom) With Nikolaos Tessaromatis (EDHEC) & Laurent Deville (EDHEC)
In January 2022, EDHEC Business School launched a new online speaker series "The Future of Finance". The objective is to address the most recent advances in the financial industry and discuss how finance can be a powerful tool to address key economic and social challenges. To this end, the series brings together internationally renowned experts and academics throughout the year, reflecting EDHEC's research culture and intellectual commitment. The target audience is EDHEC Business School's finance students, alumni, members of the wider EDHEC community and invited guests.
On March 21, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, we welcome Nick Baltas, Managing Director of Goldman Sachs on the topic:
"Institutional Trends in Systematic Investing".
Over the past decade, the systematic investing space has evolved considerably. When it was first adopted by institutional investors, it was a liquid, uncorrelated, diversified stream of returns to layer on top of strategic asset allocation portfolios. Following some challenging times, namely 2018 and 2020, investor attention has shifted to finding investment solutions to meet specific economic objectives/outcomes, such as seeking defensive equity solutions, income generating solutions, more recently defensive inflation solutions, etc. With this in mind, systematic investment strategies have been an evolving and versatile tool in the hands of large institutional investors. Nick Baltas will explore current market trends and potential investment ideas.
